Delos Island (Must-Do)

The unmissable day trip from Mykonos. Delos is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the mythological birthplace of Apollo, and one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. A 30-minute boat ride from Mykonos Old Port brings you to an entire ancient city: the Terrace of the Lions, the House of Dionysus, the Sacred Lake, and the ancient theatre. Entry 20 EUR. Allow 3-4 hours on the island. Bring water and a hat -- there's no shade.

Delos and Rhenia Combined Tour

Full-day tours (about 6 hours) visit Delos for the archaeology, then stop at uninhabited Rhenia island for swimming and a BBQ lunch. The best of both worlds. Shared tours cost 70-120 EUR.

Archaeological Museum

In Mykonos Town's Old Port. Pottery, statues, and jewellery from Delos and the ancient necropolis of Rineia. Entry 1 EUR. The perfect complement to a Delos visit.

Armenistis Lighthouse

A 19th-century lighthouse on the wild northwest tip of the island. Free, no facilities, views to Tinos and Syros. Reached by car or ATV (no bus). The side of Mykonos that most visitors never see.

Windmills Walking Tour

The six iconic Kato Mili windmills above Little Venice, plus the Bonis Windmill Museum. A free 2-3 hour walking tour through Mykonos Town's most photogenic landmarks.

Ano Mera Village

The only inland village on Mykonos, 8 km from town. The Panagia Tourliani monastery (1542), cheaper tavernas than the coast, and a taste of authentic island life.

Boat Trips

Sunset Cruise

Sail the west coast as the sun sets over the Aegean. From 38 EUR per person for a shared catamaran. Most include drinks and snacks. Departs from the Old Port around 17:30 in summer.

Search ferry connections and book ahead at Ferryscanner.

South Coast Boat Trip

Beach-hop by sea along the south coast, visiting hidden coves, sea caves at Tragonisi, and the famous beaches from the water side. Half-day from 60 EUR, full-day from 100 EUR.

Snorkelling and Diving

Mykonos has clear Aegean water (20-30m visibility) with parrotfish, barracuda, moray eels, and octopus. Shore snorkelling is free at rocky beach edges (Paranga and Psarou are best). Guided tours from 85 EUR. Scuba diving available for beginners (Discover Scuba, no cert needed) and certified divers at centres on Psarou and Paradise Beach.

The water taxi from Platis Gialos connects to Paradise, Super Paradise, Agrari, and Elia for 20 EUR per day. The best way to beach-hop.

Learn to make Mykonian dishes (spinach pie, stuffed tomatoes, tzatziki) with a local chef. 4-6 hours including the meal. From about 100-145 EUR per person.

Little Venice Restaurants

The most atmospheric dining on the island. Waterfront tables overlooking the Aegean with sunset views. Kastro's for cocktails, Niko's Taverna for traditional Greek, M-Eating for fine dining.

Nightlife

Sunset cocktails in Little Venice, bar hopping in Chora from 23:00, clubs from 01:00. Paradise Beach Club (Tropicana), Cavo Paradiso (clifftop sunrise sets), Jackie O' (LGBTQ+). The scene starts late and runs until dawn.
